Refund Policies for the 2024.25 Season

This applies to the 1-Day Adventure, 2-Day Expedition and 1-Day A-Star Packages.

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL

In the event that a guest needs to cancel their trip, our standard cancellation policy applies as follow. Please make sure to contact us at 1.800.663.7080 to notify us of your cancellation and confirm via email as soon as possible.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking, and is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any reservation will be cancelled if the full payment has not been received by the indicated due date.
  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

IF WE CANNOT FLY

Our goal at STHS is to deliver an exceptional experience that soars above your expectations. However; freezing rain, extreme avalanche/weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances could have you visiting Revelstoke Mountain Resort instead of our tenure. In a typical season, our operation averages 2-3 “Down Days” per month. If we are unable to take guests heli-skiing on their scheduled day, we have the fairest refund policy in the industry. Please note that we do not refund guests who do not reach the guaranteed vertical amount due to poor skiing ability or fitness, illness or injury.

1-Day Adventure & 1-Day A-Star

  • In the very rare occasion STHS decides to cancel prior to and up to the evening before your scheduled day, we will try to rebook your trip if we have the availability and your schedule allows. If rebooking is not possible, you will be given a 100% refund. *STHS unfortunately does not provide ski passes to Revelstoke Mountain Resort in this scenario.
  • If Selkirk Tangiers cancels your trip the morning of your ski day or prior to you embarking on your first run, we will issue you a 100% refund and a complementary 1-day ski pass to Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
  • If the guaranteed vertical target is not reached during your visit due to inclement weather, mechanical helicopter reasons or avalanche conditions, you will be refunded at a rate of $246+tax for each run not achieved ($268+tax for the Day A-Star package)
  • If you only ski 1 run and rebooking is not an option, you will be charged a flat rate depending on the package type.

2-Day Expedition

  • If one of your heli days is cancelled, we will try our best to reschedule you another day.
  • If you cannot be rescheduled, your package will be changed to a 1-Day Adventure program and the price difference will be refunded. In this scenario, the following guidelines will apply to your new package: Backcountry Safety Briefing will be done on the first day even if it’s a “Down Day.”; Any runs not achieved from the 1-Day Adventure package will be refunded at the $246 + tax.
  • In the rare circumstance we need to cancel both days, we will issue you a full refund.

This applies to 3-Day Classic, 3 and 4-Day Small Group, Private and Pinnacle Packages.

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL

In the event that a guest needs to cancel their trip, our standard cancellation policy applies as follow. Please make sure to contact us at 1.800.663.7080 to notify us of your cancellation and confirm via email as soon as possible.

  • A deposit of 35% of your package rate is due at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. Please note that we cannot hold a reservation without completed booking forms and a deposit. Your reservation will be cancelled if the deposit payment has not been received by the indicated due date.
  • Full payment is required 10 weeks prior to your trip commencement date. This payment is non-refundable.
  • If your cancellation is received more than ten weeks prior to trip commencement, the deposit amount for each package being cancelled will be retained by Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing as an administration and cancellation fee. The rest will be refunded in the same manner it was paid.
  • If your cancellation is received less than ten weeks prior to trip commencement, the total of all payments for that package will be retained by Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing.

IF WE CANNOT FLY

Every multiday package with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing includes guaranteed vertical meters or flight time. If the guaranteed target is not reached during your visit due to inclement weather, mechanical helicopter reasons or avalanche conditions, you will be refunded at a rate of $165 + tax per 1,000 vertical meters for a 3-Day Classic Package, $215 + tax per 1,000 vertical meters for 3-Day and 4-Day Small Group Packages, or at a rate of $6,160 + tax per hour (or portion of an hour) for Private 205 Packages, and $3,850 per hour (or portion of the hour) for Private A-Star Packages. We do not refund guests who do not reach the guaranteed vertical due to poor skiing ability or fitness, illness or injury. If you choose not to ski on any given day during your package, you will still be charged for the minimum meters skied by your group. If a guest chooses not to ski on any given day during the package, the groups will still be charged for the flight time used by the other members of the group.


Trip Insurance

Emergency Medical Coverage & Helicopter Evacuation

Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing will provide Emergency Medical Insurance as part of your ski package purchase.  This coverage will only be in place while you are our guest at Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing and does not extend to your province or country of permanent residence. 

No one ever plans to need medical care while away; but if you do experience misadventures on your vacation, Emergency Medical Insurance provides coverage for medical expenses such as ambulance (including helicopter transfer to hospital), hospitalization, surgery, prescriptions, emergency transportation home and more.  All claims require you to be seen by a physician. Policy details are sent with Booking Forms and are also available upon request.

Trip Cancellation/Interruption

We understand that occasionally events occur that prevent you from joining us for your vacation.  Life is full of surprises and so is travel! You can’t predict a delayed flight, road closure, death of a family member or your own early season ski injury.  When an unexpected event prevents you from travelling, Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption reimburses travel costs if your trip is cancelled before you leave or disrupted after it has begun.

Please pay special attention to our Cancellation and Refund Terms.

To avoid any financial hardship that an unexpected cancellation or interruption could cause, we strongly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance to protect your trip investment. On average, you can expect this type of coverage to cost 5% – 6% of your total trip cost. It’s worth the peace of mind!
